This two-story location in Santo Domingo presented an initial challenge in delivering the La Cadena chain’s tried-and-true brand promise of fresh merchandise, superior service, and quick convenience (within an easily shopped small format market). KRS addressed this challenge by situating fresh produce along with sundries on the main, entrance floor of the space. The customer path leads towards a stairway dressed to entice foot traffic to the upper level (this accompanied by an elevator and signage educating shoppers as to the food categories to be found on the upper level). Fresh amenities including meat, seafood, dairy, and a bakery along with additional sundries are located on the second level.
